Our inspiration is drawn from the timeless echoes of Classical and Celtic mythology, the luminous beauty of Renaissance art and the evocative films of Ingmar Bergman. Diiiotima is centered in New York City but travels often. We can also be found in New Orleans performing dark cabaret. Our ensemble consists of devoted professionals driven by passion and precision, united in the pursuit of crafting performances that transcend expectation and linger.​

Auspicious Beginnings

Diiiotima is the creation of Mike Gillespie and Anna Archaic, two workaholics who were destined to cross paths and create together. 

Before he “joined the circus,” Mike made his start in restaurants where he spent over a decade cooking through kitchens where details made all the difference. He credits his passion and drive to many hours preparing and thinking intensely about cuisine. An incorrigible bibliophile, He wanted to write and make art that reflected his love of literature. Drawn to the freedom of expression in the entertainment industry he made performing arts his career. 
Anna wore many professional hats when needed, but always remained an entertainer, through and through. As a small child, she would enthusiastically assemble family members for her original plays, where stuffed animals often had supporting roles. Her love of singing, theater and dance conduced to a highly focused path in specialty entertainment, now her full time craft. 

Mike and Anna met on an unremarkable face painting gig and spent years becoming close friends. Their mutual love of mythology and ardent desire to do something different, led the way to the many discussions that became Diiiotima Arts LLC.
